Web Site Hosting

SpiderCMS uses an SQL Database and therefore needs to be hosted on a Windows Server running MS-SQL and the .NET Framework. This can either be hosted at your premises on your SQL server, or at SpiderNet's servers. Although many customers may have dedicated web servers, they do not always require dedicated database servers. SpiderNet offers SQL Server database hosting for all customers within its facilities. Customers receive a set amount of disk space, the cost of which is based on the overall size used.

There are a number of ways by which the Administrator of a SpiderCMS website can have real-time information on the visitation rate to his website. One way is the placement of banners, which count the number of views and clicks on them. The number of clicks on a banner may be useful in the case someone might be interested to know how many people were interested in what was advertised in the banner. Another solution is to place a counter module in a page (usually in the homepage), which will automatically count all hits of that page. As with all modules, the counter may be visible or hidden. Finally, more sophisticated software may be used, which will give you advanced options. Our recommendation is to use WebTrends Log Analyser, which produces reports on web site visitor patterns, referring sites, visitor paths, demographics, and much more. You can learn, for example, which sites and keyword searches have referred the largest number of visitors to your site. All statistics software is not included in the SpiderCMS package.
