E-commerce Modules

Catalog

The catalog module is the backbone of the e-commerce modules. It allows the Administrator to define categories, then enter items into each category and a description for each item (e.g. title, summary, image, etc). He/she can define as many levels of categories as one wants and there are also two different levels of browsing: list or drop-down menu.

Shopping Basket

This module is used as a storing area of goods selected to be purchased. Ones a good is sent to the shopping basket, can be proceeded to the checkout for purchasing. The user can visit his/her shopping basket to review all products selected for a final inspection. Moreover, in the case that an item is placed in the shopping basket but not purchased, the system will keep the item in that user’s shopping basket as a wish list.

Checkout

This module manages the check out process of the customer and the sending of valuable and critical information, such as shipping info, payment info and numbers, as well as the order to prepare and dispatch the product. This module offers maximum flexibility to the administrator as its dynamic structure allows the easy editing of delivery zones, shipping methods and rates, taxation, discounts etc.

Order Handling and History

By signing-in using a username and a password, this module, makes possible the display of the status of the customer’s order, order info, as well as all the other orders the customer has made so far.

Reporting

This module is mostly intended towards the administrators of the Web Site as it processes and displays general statistics on the catalog, i.e. how many items are assigned in each category, how many items have taxes and/or discounts, how many categories are assigned in each definition, how many items in a category are assigned in each definition etc.

Featured Items

This module enables the Administrator of the web site to have a selection with special items (new, featured or other). The module is very dynamic and flexible in the sense that it allows the display of new items, featured items or both, set templates for each item and choose the catalogs from which the items will be selected from.
